Do you want to be a better parent? The correct answer is yes, I want to be a better parent. Get TIPP! TIPP is the plan you've been waiting for to help you plan your child rearing practices. It is a unique guide that helps you determine what you want for your child, but it is also the tool that helps others see in writing what your desires are for the child. By putting your desires in writing, you create an environment for your family that embraces thoughtful and reflective action and accountability. TIPP is a written plan through which parents are challenged to think about the life of the child, and to implement their desires by first writing them on paper and then acting on them. It is a tool that takes parenting to a new level, and begins to lay the foundation for true Christian parenting and child rearing. It is a God-send.
Most of us talk about "raising" our children. TIPP challenges parents to "rear" their children. What's the difference between "raising" and "rearing" your child? I'm glad you asked. Farmers "raise" crops. They plant them, water them, fertilize them, and harvest them with the intention of selling them. While they check on them daily, they are left outside (where they grow best) for the elements to influence them. The farmers contact is not always intimate, and the raising is only individualized to the particular type of crop. Each plant does not have its own raising method.
Child rearing, on the other hand, involves birthing, feeding, watering, loving and nurturing the child. It involves thinking and reflecting as adjustments are made in the life of the child.Child rearing involves the heart and all of the emotions that accompany such an endeavor. It is so much more that mere "raising." It is involving the things of God and understanding humanity that helps to shape our child rearing practices. Throughout TIPP, parents are asked to think about their "child rearing" practices.
